(1) Who has access to the data contained in my profile?

Only GAOS members in good standing, i.e. those who have paid the annual subscription, are issued a password enabling them to log on to the members-only section. They are the only ones who have access to the information in each member’s profile. In addition, and in order to protect our members' privacy, e-mail addresses are hidden. If you wish to send an e-mail message to a fellow member but don't know his or her address, go to his or her entry under Members / Directory and click on "Send message".

(2) How can I change my password to one that's easier to remember?

Once you’ve logged on, click on your name in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.

You will be given three choices: View profile, Change password and Log out. Click on “Change password” and follow the instructions.

(3) What if I forget my password?

No problem. To request a new password, click on the orange circle / LOGIN (top right of your screen), then on "Forgot password". Enter the e-mail address you use for GAOS, then enter the computer-generated six characters you see on the screen in the box indicated (if you cannot read them properly, just click on the circular arrow for another set of characters). Click on "Submit". You'll receive a link to set a new password.

(4) Can I update the data listed in my profile?

Yes. Once you’ve logged on, click on your name in the upper right-hand corner of the screen (see screen shot under Answer 2). You will be given three choices: View profile, Change password and Log out. Click on “View profile”. Then click on “Edit profile”. Don’t forget to save your changes before logging off!


(5) Can I hide the data listed in my profile?

Absolutely. Once you’ve logged on, click on your name in the upper right-hand corner of the screen (see screen shot under answer 2). You will be given three choices: View profile, Change password and Log out. Click on “View profile”, then “Edit profile”, then “Privacy”.

By default, the box “Show profile to others” is ticked. If you wish to hide your profile from other GAOS members, “untick” the box. Don’t forget to save your settings before logging off!

(6) How can I change my membership level?


To change your membership level (add or remove another household member), log on and click on your name in the upper right-hand corner of the screen (see screen shot under answer 2). You will be given three choices: View profile, Change password and Log out. Click on “View profile”, then "Membership details" and "Change membership level". Select the new level you require, then click on "Next". If you are doing this after you have already paid your membership for the season, write to membership@gaos.ch to make sure you're  invoice has been updated and you're not listed as unpaid.


(7) How can I renew my membership by credit card?

To do this, log on as a GAOS member. Once you've logged on, click on your name in the upper right-hand corner of the screen, then on "View profile" (see screen shot under answer 2). Under Membership details, select "Renew until 01 Aug 2017", followed by "Update and next" and "Pay online". Fill in the card details - using the name on the card - and click on "Pay XX.00 CHF". You will see a confirmation and receive a confirmation e-mail.

(8) I'm trying to new my membership, but the tab "Renew until 1-Aug" is greyed out and unreactive. What do I do?

You are part of a group, or "bundle", of members living at the same address. One member of the group has been designated the "bundle administrator", and only that person can renew for the group's members. If you'd like to change the "bundle administrator", for example to yourself, write to us at membership@gaos.ch and we will make the change.
