Performing in a musical requires different skills - singing, dancing, performing movements, learning lines, building a character and acting. Time constraints and the need to prioritize mean that rehearsals tend to focus on singing and blocking, with character building and acting skills not getting the same attention.
This has inspired GAOS member Lena Blohm to organize an afternoon acting workshop on
Sunday, 8 March 2020
at GAOS HQ (14h00-18h30, incl. breaks).
Whether you are a newcomer or want to refresh your skills, you are encouraged to join in on a fun afternoon journey across various movement-based exercises, games and basic character-building tools. Creativity, expression and “letting go” are frequently blocked forfear of making mistakes or feeling judged. The workshop will provide a safe space where participants can explore their talent without feeling observed or under performance pressure.
The workshop targets participants who are open-minded, curious and want to to fully immerse themselves in different movement and acting exercises. You will get the most out of this workshop by stepping out of your comfort zone.
Please sign up in advance by clicking here - you will receive a confirmation email with further details. As places are limited, please be respectful towards the host and other interested members and only sign up if you are available for the entire duration of the workshop, and only attend if you have received a confirmation email. Sign-ups are on a first-come-first-served basis, priority being given to GAOS members.
Non-members: CHF 20 cover charge. Ages 16+. No previous acting or performance experience required.
