If you don't want to perform on stage but want to be involved in producing something vibrant and creative, come and work backstage in lighting, sound, set building, props making, costume sourcing, stage management or the ever essential prompt.
Don’t worry if you have no experience. GAOS runs regular workshops on technical roles and will happily train you in new and exciting tasks.
We also need front of house volunteers to greet our audiences, look after the bar and add general support.
Our sound and lighting teams work together to make the show look and sound great. If you have an interest in working with either team, contact technical@gaos.ch for more information.
If you are an experienced garment maker or you can barely sew on a button, we need you. We source costumes from the GAOS collection and other theatres as well as make new costumes from scratch. From head to toe it is our job to make the actor step into their character and feel at home in their role.
If you love makeup and want to try your hand at stage make-up, join the team back stage and have fun getting our actors ready. Explore the "greasepaint" and fabulous wigs that finish off the actors look.
The set literally prepares the stage for the performance and our experienced crew have a lot of fun designing and building for each performance. We have a fully equipped workshop at HQ where each unique set is designed and built. We are always looking for help.
Actors need accessories and our props department use their ingenuity to create impressive and functional props to help set the scene.
Our main productions and pantomimes are accompanied by live bands or orchestras. The music team is made up of professional and talented amateur instrumentalists. We are always looking to expand our database of musicians, so if you are looking for a place to play, contact info@gaos.ch.
Front of House volunteers greet our audiences, check tickets, look after the bar and add general support.
Our productions are headed up by a Director, Musical Director, Choreographer and Stage Manager.
