OVERVIEW
For the Boys, written by Mags Sheldon, was inspired by the letters and poetry written by service men and service women to their loved ones during World War II. This unique piece of musical theatre showcased the songs which provided nostalgia for peace, motivated the troops and promised a better future.
SUPPORTING UKRAINIAN REFUGEES
In light of the illegal invasion of Ukraine, GAOS decided to donate all profits from For the Boys to support Ukrainian refugees. We hope that For the Boys can add to the resounding cry that peace must prevail and that this cruel and unnecessary war must end.
CHF 10,000 was donated directly to DETI, an association supported by the Ukrainian ambassade and the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the United Nations. A further CHF 5,000 was donated through UBS's Ukraine Relief Fund, which will match our donation bringing the total to CHF 10,000.
Thanks to the Commune de Nyon for their generous donation of the Théâtre de Marens for this production, further financially supporting the Ukrainian refugees.
